icelandic panoramic series
Landscapes and expansive skies make the most dramatic subject matter for panoramic images, especially ones where the clouds appear to rush towards the horizon. There is still distortion in the stitching process, but it adds to the narrative of the image rather than distracting from its believability.
In 2012 I traveled to Iceland which is one of the world’s least densely populated countries. The most telling images from this trip were the panoramic images which capture the diverse landscape, both overhead and underfoot, and the smallness of the human footprint (both literal and figurative) on this remote terrain.
